The Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar established in 1962 is the only Farm varsity of the State and is the second oldest Agricultural University of the Country. The University has so far established 58 educational, research and transfer technology campuses spread all over the State and has developed the capacity of enrolling 1798 students annually in Agriculture and allied sectors like Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Agricultural Engineering, Fisheries, Forestry, Home Science, Horticulture, Basic Science and Humanities. OUAT has evolved 109 crop varieties, a good number of production and protection technologies for crops, animals, fishes, several implements, added value to agricultural products and have developed solutions to several soil and water related constraints which have been widely adopted in the State. The University offers post graduation in 54 disciplines and Ph.D. in 31 disciplines. Till date more than 14000 Graduates, 5000 Post-Graduates and 300 Ph. D. students have received the degrees. OUAT has received the ICAR award for maximum number of fellowships during 2014.

The College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology (CAET) at Bhubaneswar was established in the year 1966. Well acclaimed as one of the leading colleges under SAU-ICAR system, CAET-Bhubaneswar is known throughout the country and abroad for outstanding contributions in the fields of education, research and technology transfer to the farmers since more than four decades. It provides highly qualified technical as well as managerial human resources to the public and industrial sector through its B.Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D. Programmes.

CAET is a lively institution, with its dedicated & qualified teaching staff. The college is well equipped with modern laboratory facilities to meet the challenges and the needs of the government and industries.

The College will be celebrating its Golden Jubilee Year in 2016.

Bhubaneswar is well connected to the major cities of India by rail, road and air. Bhubaneswar airport is situated only about 4 kms from OUAT campus. The Bhubaneswar railway station is about 4.5 km from the university campus.
